What's the Difference Between the User Section and the Role Section?
First and foremost, I would not recommend utilizing both simultaneously since this leads to a lot of confusion.
Users: This is ideal if you have a specific person you need to be in the approval path within a particular step. A typical example would be.
Step 1: Principal
Step 2: Custodial Supervisor.
The work order would first route to the principal for approval, and once they approve it, it goes to the custodial supervisor for approval and the assigning portion.
Roles: This is more of a technology-related feature for "Round-Robin" type approvals. If you pick a role, anyone with that role is now part of the process.
Example:
Step 1: Technician
Step 2: Admins
The work order would come through and be pending step 1, and anyone with the technician role would receive an email, but only ONE person would need to approve it.
Once that is done, it would go to step 2, and all admins would receive an email, but only one of them would need to approve and assign it.
How do I edit an Approval Path?
