ML Work Orders™ Users with Administrative Permissions have the ability to Manage Custom Field Lists and Sections
Manage Custom Field List (Optional):
1. Select Settings > Custom Fields Setup.
The Custom Field List page will be displayed.
Note: Admins can click the Inactive button () to hide these fields from displaying on their assets/work orders. The plus icon (
) can be used to reactivate them to show them on an asset/work orders.
2. Select the () button to add a new Custom Field.
3. Enter the Name, Label, Field Type, Data Type (If Applicable), and Options (If Applicable), and select the Save button.
Note: "Include Notes Entry" adds a textbox that displays next to the field.
Note: Standard Fields have been implemented into the system. These are typically already tied to an Asset Type based on EFR Standards. Please click HERE to learn more about EFR Standards.
4. All Field Types excluding the "Textbox" type will require you to enter the options that will be shown.
5. Select the Save and Add button for any additional Custom Fields.
Creating Linked Fields:
While editing a custom field or adding a new custom field a "Linked Fields" column will display. Select any Custom Field to link to any option of your custom field (as seen in the below screenshot)
- NOTE: To link fields together, the Parent Field (in the above screenshot, the parent field is "Do you Need a New Laptop" field) is required to have the Field Type "Single Select Dropdown".
Submitting a Request with Linked Field:
Once you have your custom fields linked together, you can now leverage that functionality when submitting requests.
The Below video illustrates how linked dependent fields will display on the request form,as well as on the request detail page.
When Editing a Linked Field in a request, select the "Manage Linked Fields" button to edit any linked fields on the request.
Manage Custom Field Section:
1. Select Settings > Custom Fields > Custom Field Sections.
The Custom Field Sections page will be displayed.
2. To add an additional section click the Plus icon () at the top right.
3. Fill out the textbox field.
4. Click Save.
