See Enabling walkthrough mode article to learn how to allow walkthrough mode for Request Types in ML Work Orders. This article will cover what needs to happen before rolling out the new walkthrough mode for your district
Step 1 - Who is this request for and what is this request about?
- This dropdown allows you to request on behalf of somebody else and you will only see this dropdown if you have the "Can Submit Request on Behalf of Others" Work Order permission in your role.
- Select the Request Category to indicate what this issue is about
- See Enabling walkthrough mode article for more information on how to setup Request Categories
- If a Request Category is classified as a quick request, it will be displayed here.
- Clicking a Quick Request will take you right to the work order form page to review all information before officially submitting the request.
- See Enabling walkthrough mode article for more information on how to set up Quick Requests
Once you select the Request Category, you will move onto a new page that will allow you to further specify the exact issue for the work order.
Finally, when you select the final Request Category in the breadcrumb path, you will automatically be routed to Step 2, or in some cases Step 3 (see below).
Step 2 - What is the location of this request?
In this step, you will be able to specify the building and space for the work order.
This step will display only in the following conditions:
- If the creator of the work order does NOT have a default building and space configured in their edit user/user profile page
- If the creator has default building and spaces configured in their edit user page/profile page, then this step is skipped.
If this step does display, there will be a preselected building and space value. Those values come from looking at prior work order history for the creator and preselecting the most commonly used building and space in their work order history
You have the flexibility to override the default selection to any building/space within your Roles/Permissions.
Once you have selected your building and space for the work order, select the button.
Step 3 - Do any Assets Apply to this request?
- Note this step is optional
In this section, you can select assets that apply to this request.
- My Assets are assets assigned to the Creator of the Work Order
- Selected User Assets are assets assigned to the user you are requesting on behalf of
- Other Assets in Location are all other assets that have the same location as the work order location
-
Search Other Assets allows you to search any other assets you have permission to view. You can search assets in this dropdown by Display Name.
Once you reviewed if any assets should be applied to this request, select the button to finalize the work order form before submission!
Step 4 - Final Review Before Submission
Note: Any custom fields configured to display for this specific breadcrumb path, in this case, "Device / Hardware -> Chromebook -> Touchscreen Not Working" will display on the bottom of the form.
After reviewing the form information, when ready, please select the "Submit Request" button to submit your work order!
